Week # 8: Responsibilities of Agriculture Teachers

Objectives:

  • Understand the major components of leadership involved in successful employment.
    • Create and obtain goals to develop leadership skills and facilitate transition to employment.

Learning Activities:

Making a Difference is the title of the FFA publication designed for agriculture teachers. The January 2004 issue does a good job of explaining the relationship of classroom instruction, FFA and SAE. Please read this issue of Making a Difference to get a better understanding of the responsibilities of the agriculture teacher.

This sample application is in a relatively new proficiency award area called Agriculture Education. You will probably want to refer to it as you complete your application.

You may also want to use the SAE Handbook found in the sidebar of the National FFA Website to help complete your application.

Time to get started on your proficiency award in the area of Agriculture Education. Download the application and save a copy on your flash drive. Fill out pages 1-3 in the application. Go ahead and look over the other pages too. Plan to start taking quality digital pictures of yourself in action.

Be sure to fill out Week 8 Worksheet.
