Week # 7: Advanced Public Speaking

Objectives:

  • Create a research paper on an agricultural topic and present to a live audience.
    • Critique delivery of a speech
  • Understand the major components of leadership involved in successful employment.
    • Explain the importance of multiple components to an agriculture education program

Learning Activities:

This week you will deliver your speech to a community group. After you finish they may ask you questions. Be ready. This site helps with questions too. Be sure to complete the exercises as well.

Extracredit Extra credit!

One day this week you need to observe your advisor teach for 30 minutes. Follow the directions on the Teacher Movement Worksheet and record what happens!

Be sure to complete Week 7 Worksheet.

There is an FFA Career Development Event called Prepared Public Speaking. I challenge you to compete in this contest. Talk with your advisor about the chance to represent your chapter and to win $500 at the state convention in this contest. But first evaluate yourself using the scoring sheet FFA uses to select a winner. It is on the last page of this pdf. Turn in your scoring sheet to your advisor.
