Week # 6: Speaking in Public

Objectives:

    • Describe features to look for in a camcorder
    • Capture video on a camera and transfer it to a computer
  • Create a research paper on an agricultural topic and present to a live audience.

Learning Activities:

Look over all the weekly activities and make a to-do list for this week. Be specific with each day. Turn this into your advisor on day 1 so it will be of use to you.

Present your speech to an agriculture class. Record it with a digital video recorder.

Although you may not understand everything, you can learn by doing when you evaluate your advisor in the classroom using this form principals use.

You have just be given $800 to buy a digital video camera (don't worry about shipping or taxes). You want to get the best possible digital video camera (often called a camcorder). First you may want to do some research. Two good places to check out the opinions of others are C/Net (http://www.cnet.com/) and Epinions (http://www.epinions.com/). Go to both web sites, search for camcorders and look at the reviews. Then write a short paper (one page or less) telling which digital video camera you would purchase and why. This should be a page or less. Post it to the BLOG.
