Read Larry Case's and Kathryn Whitaker's article from The Agricultural Education Magazine (December, 1998) titled "The FFA: Why Do We Have It

The North Carolina FFA website can be reached at http://www.ncffa.org.

Read Section 10 of the Smith-Hughes Act. (You will have to scroll down to find section 10).

Read The Agricultural Education Magazine article by Moore entitled "Two Angora Goats."

Read "Is SAE Meeting the Needs of Today's Students?" from The Agricultural Education Magazine.

Create a Name Badge ID using a digital camera. Don't forget to include the GOAL logo on the badge. Lamenate it to create a professional look.

You must have this Parent/Guardian Consent Form signed to participate in this class. Print it out and have your parents/guardians study it and sign it if they consent to your further participation.

Download, complete, turn into your advisor, and save a copy for yourself of the GOAL Course Assignments Checklist. This form will guide you into when assignments are due each week for the rest of the semester. If you are in a yearlong course adjust as needed..

After completing this lesson, go to the BLOG and tell about your experience in the FFA, 4-H or another youth organization and how you benefited from this experience. Tell also about your SAE thus far in high school and explain what you have learned. Click on the BLOG side bar for "Week 1". Then simply leave a reply.
